Project
Here are some of my projects that I have done over the course of my High School year!
This is a project I did in English. It's a letter to the president of the united states. In the letter I'm stating my current issues as an American.

President of The United States of America
1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW
Washington, DC 20500
Dear President of The United States of America,
My name is Ashton Woodson. I am a highschool student I currently SLA (Science Leadership Academy). I’m currently in the 11th grade. I’m sure as president you will make great decisions for our country. I have one year left before I graduate high school. I have to think about college, jobs and my rights a women in America. I’ve been pondering about these current issues. My question for you is how will you help me with my current issues?

I don’t wanna ask myself everyday, will I go to college? Will I get to go to the college of my choice? How will I pay for college? How will I pay off my loans and debts? If and when I go to college I want to focus on my education. I personally believe there shouldn’t be a price on education. We should be free to learn as much as we can without expenses over our heads. Not only helps us individually it helps our nation to become better as one. I want to go to college to learn to be a pediatric nurse. How can you fix this concern of mines?

It’s very hard for middle class people to get a job let alone get good pay. minimum wage here in Pennsylvania 7.25 per hour. Not only is that not enough for a middle class person to survive off of. What about a single parent household? My mom is a single parent with three kids. She doesn’t work anymore because she got very sick. That’s hard enough as it is. My dad has been laid off a couple of times. It took him a while to find a job every time he got laid off. Now he found another job after about 2 months. Now every time he gets a new job I question myself. When’s the next time he’ll get laid off? My dad has a wife and three kids to take care of four including me. What will 7.25 do for a household of six? Sometimes my dad doesn’t feel comfortable for my sister and I to come over because there’s barely any food in the house. I strongly believe that the minimum wage should be higher. What can you as president do about that?

My biggest concern is women rights? I believe that women should have the same rights as men. Not limited or taken because of their gender. Women shouldn’t feel in subjective to men neither should men feel superior to women. Me as women should feel comfortable to walk down the street or got to school without feeling some type of fear. Fear whether or not will I get home safe or I can join the basketball of football team, without being called out of my name. No women should be scared to say no to men. Also, no men should abuses women in anyway because they said no. No man has the right to do that. Women rights are just as important as men's rights. Nothing more or nothing less. How can you make this be known to others and show how important this issue is?

Thank you for taking the time to read about my concerns that I have. I hope you can look upon these and make a change. Maybe with you in office I can go to college tuition and debt free. If you can please keep these issues in mind. These problems are not just affecting me but others just like me. Once again thank you.

Good Luck as President,
Ashton Woodson
